In 2017, he exported abroad three batches of Manchurian ash in the amount of 9 million rubles. Declaring wood, the entrepreneur submitted invalid permits to the customs forexportvaluable forest species illegally obtained by him in Rosprirodnadzor. Nakhodka customs officers found out that permits were issued on the basis of forged documents on the acquisition of ash.

In accordance with Part 1 of Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Smuggling of strategically important resources on a large scale", the businessman will be punished up to imprisonment for up to seven years.

Manchurian ash is an object of the CITES Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. Permission to export valuable wood species is issued by Rosprirodnadzor on the basis of documents confirming the legality of their extraction and acquisition.
